A visual description of the page

This webpage looks like it has been assembled out of various pieces of torn paper; some are a natural/beige textured paper, some are dark purple and some are a firey red. Photos look like polaroids and are stuck to the page with aging pieces of tape. There are doodles of alchemical symbols scattered across the page, as well as tentacles and hairy squiggles. There are lots and lots of eyes. All of the eyes are looking at you.

An illustration of a man sat at a desk, wearing a hoodie and a beanie. He is writing in a notebook.
  • There it is. The burl.
It’s a colossal twine ball made from tentacles that squirm the way a dead squid's never should…

  • Half the strands look wet, like long strings of immortal mucus, while the other half are ethereal things...

  • The tangled Aer strands are shimmering spectres that flail from within the gruesome knot.

An illustration of a plant with four leaves and three flowers. Each of the flowers has an eye in the center. They are all looking at you. Each of the leaves contains a mouth. It is singing.
An illustration of a four-legged creature with a long neck and a tail. Where it's head would be there is just one big eye. It is looking at you and wagging its tail.

About

The previous image is layered on top of a torn piece of lined paper. A yellowing piece of tape stuck over the top left corner of the photo, and someone has doodled a swirly gold shape in the bottom left corner

  • Beastwoven

Lia and Ali are trained to use their elemental weaving powers to destroy burl beasts - mindless, bloodthirsty monsters created when the threads of their world tangle together. Their secret? They themselves are a burl beast: twin sisters, forced to share one body. Quiet and reserved Lia controlling by day. Outspoken and abrasive Ali leading by night.

When news arrives that an elusive criminal is creating bespoke burl beasts by practising the illegal magic that could finally separate them, the girls jump at the chance to join the team sent to investigate. But as the girls get closer to their new flock and, more importantly, two different boys, it becomes harder to hide who - or what - they really are.

Delving deeper into the dangerous world of flesh-weaving and political intrigue, the girls get closer to the answers they so desperately seek. But is the price of their separation truly worth the risk?

Beastwoven is due October 2026. Stay tuned for more.
